New York alt-pop singer Rachael Sage returns to Joe's Pub February 10th for a one-night-only Valentine’s-themed concert extravaganza! The event will showcase Sage and her band The Sequins (featuring drummer Andy Mac and cellist Ward Williams), as well as special surprise guests. Sage’s previous ‘themed’ concerts in NYC have earned a reputation for colorful, tongue-in-cheek irreverence, and have garnered high praise from The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and Time Out NY.
Sage’s most recent album, Blue Roses, was released earlier this year and featured members of Daft Punk, Bruce Springsteen and Patti Smith's bands, as well as a duet with folk icon Judy Collins. She has shared the stage with A Great Big World, Marc Cohn, Eric Burdon and Elizabeth McGovern (Downton Abbey). Recent international tours have brought Sage everywhere from Florence to Edinburgh, where she performed her one-woman show to rave reviews at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Sage has proven herself an idiosyncratic, compelling stage presence, able to infuse her shows with drama, humor, spontaneity, theatricality and, most of all, musical chops (via vocals, keyboard and guitar). With a diverse audience that celebrates her all-inclusive style, Sage has a lush, dynamic sound that has earned her a loyal fan base.
