"I have seen the future of the great American songbook and her name is Shaina Taub." - Huffington Post

"The singer and songwriter Shaina Taub belongs to a breed of performers who, apart from being artists, are gravitational forces around whom others cluster like filings to a magnet.' - The New York Times

'Shaina Taub's infectious music is a playful blend of Billy Joel's piano-driven pop, Aretha's soul and Regina Spektor's whimsy. Taub's imaginative lyricism is all her own though.' - NPR/WNYC

Award-winning songwriter and performer Shaina Taub returns to Joe's Pub, continuing her ongoing concert residency this spring. For the past three summers, she starred in her musical adaptations of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night and As You Like It at the Delacorte Theater as part of the Public Theater's Public Works initiative. A winner of the Jonathan Larson Grant, the Fred Ebb Award and the Kleban Prize, Taub has released two solo albums (Visitors and Die Happy) and has played her music in Lincoln Center's American Songbook series and with the New York Pops at Carnegie Hall. She and her band performed in the critically acclaimed run of Bill Irwin and David Shiner's Old Hats at the Signature Theatre. Taub is currently at work on a new musical about the women's suffrage movement and is writing lyrics for The Devil Wears Prada with music by Sir Elton John.

First up are three intimate shows in May, featuring Taub mostly solo at the piano performing an 'unplugged' set with a few special appearances by longtime collaborators multi-instrumentalist Mike Brun and keyboardist David Farrell Melton. Then in July, her full band is back to pull out all the stops for a big summer concert.
