Tori Scott: Vodka is the Reason for the Season

December 12

Joe's Pub

Doors at 9PM
Show at 9:30PM

Tori Scott, “the Bette Midler of the new millennium” (Provincetown Magazine), returns to Joe’s Pub with her annual holiday show Vodka is the Reason for the Season.

Don't miss this "soul-baring singer and sharp comedian" (Huffington Post) as she recounts her early childhood fascination with The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and her time spent as a singing elf in an old folks’ home. Tori will take you on a festive autobiographical journey to celebrate what is truly special about this time of year (spoiler: it’s alcohol induced blackouts). Tori’s shameless holiday show includes stories new and old and songs by Dolly Parton, Madonna, Michael Jackson, and more.

★★★★ “Her voice is stunningly powerful…warm, generous and funny” Everything Theatre, London

Tori Scott is a New York-based singer, actress, and comedian. In addition to Joe’s Pub, Tori has toured her solo shows to Los Angeles, Dallas, Provincetown, aboard cruise liners in Alaska and the Caribbean entertaining thousands of shirtless gay men, and most recently sold out shows in London and Brighton. Her debut album Plan B! was recorded live at Joe’s Pub and will be released on Chicken Ranch Records in late 2017.

Written by Tori Scott and Adam Hetrick, Vodka is the reason for the Season is directed by Seth Sklar-Heyn (Broadway: Associate Director, Miss Saigon, Evita and A Little Night Music) with musical direction by Jesse Kissel (Broadway: The Visit and Leap of Faith).

"It's the sound of someone who's not afraid to show you just how human she is, while her super-human pipes blow you away." -- Broadway World
